Sprinkle a tablespoon of corn flour over the corn and stir it in to create a roux.

This helps thicken the soup and gives it a delightful texture.

Keep stirring for about 2 minutes to let the flour cook and do its thing.

Step 5: Add Water and Let It Simmer

Pour in 2 litres of water.

Yes, it’s a lot but we need it.

Bring the mixture to a boil, and then lower the heat to a simmer.

Let it cook for around 20-30 minutes.

That gives the corn time to get tender and the flavours time to really get to know each other.

Step 6: Season It Up

Now comes the fun part – seasoning! Add a tablespoon of fish sauce, some minced garlic, half a teaspoon of chicken powder, half a teaspoon of pepper, and a quarter teaspoon of salt.

But here’s the secret: adjust the seasonings to your own taste.

Feel free to add a pinch of chili flakes if you like a little heat!

Step 7: Cook the Shrimp

Just when you think it can’t get any better, it does.

Drop those fresh shrimp into the pot and let them cook for about 3-4 minutes.

They’ll turn a lovely shade of pink and become perfectly tender.

Be careful not to overcook them, though – we want them to be juicy!

Step 8: Add Tomatoes
